Crocheting and Knitting

Crocheting and Knitting are life long hobbies that can turn yarn or thread into works of art. Some crocheters can design their own clothes, hats, gloves, scarfs, sweaters, socks, etc. There will never be anything else out there exactly like them. Color, texture, design. Just think of the millions of different ways to do one hat, for instance. There is one lady who is on Crochet Partners Group who designs her own pocketbooks and sells them online. What a gift to be able to do that. Some people do it for fun and the gratification that they get by giving their work away to friends and relatives. Some people make things to donate to different organizations for the poor or for relief from fires, floods, or some other devastating catastrophe. Crocheting and knitting can be addictive and a joy all in one. Some ladies I know, from the senior citizens club I belong to, make preemie hats and blankets for our local maternity ward of the hospital. They also make bags and lapghans for people in wheelchairs. All the yarn is donated. All they have to do is make things with it. No cost involved, just time.
